Our client is market leader in the static inverter, central battery units and UPS sector. They are currently looking to recruit a Service technician (electrical bias) to join their existing team based in the South.

Job Title

You will be employed as an Electrical Field Service Engineer working daily from your home address.  The position is full time and permanent and you will be a member of the Service Team which reports to the Technical Service Manager.

Description

The majority of the work would involve inspection visits to their client’s premises. You would be responsible for inspecting static inverters for emergency lighting and central battery units.  These could be a variety of types (Chloride, Amberlec or Menvier or Coopers, Erskine etc.).  You would be carrying out a system check and then isolating the mains, checking the batteries are OK etc. and then re-instating the mains and ensuring the batteries were re-charging correctly.  You would also be required to deal with smaller call out jobs, single phase units, probably not much bigger than 20kVa. 

Skills

If your skills are above this level, even better.  We' be looking for at least a time served engineer, HNC electrical/electronic engineering, City & Guilds

Competent at reading schematic diagrams.

Working knowledge and understanding of inverters, battery units andUPS systems.

 Area

Ideally based in the Kent, East London, or Essex area or within 1 hour drive of East London

The ideal candidate will be someone who is happy to be on the road all the time and stay out pretty often. 

Package

Salary would be between £25,000 - £28,500, with some flexibility, given experience and skills base.

Your holiday entitlement is 28 days per year, some of which must be taken on pre-defined dates (eg. Bank Holidays).

After 24 months the Company will make up your salary for 8 weeks in any rolling 12 month period under the Company sick pay scheme.

The Company will provide a suitable vehicle for business use and the cost of all business mileage will be met by the Company. 

The Company will provide a mobile phone complete with hands free functionality.  The cost of all business calls will be met by the Company.
